Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide (DSIP) is a 9-amino acid neuropeptide first isolated from rabbit brain during deep sleep states. It promotes delta-wave (deep) sleep, normalizes disrupted cortisol rhythms, reduces stress-induced LH suppression, and has shown pain-modulating properties. One of the few peptides named specifically for its sleep-inducing function.
Grogginess next morning (at high doses)
Vivid dreams
Mild dizziness
Generally well tolerated
Dosing too high expecting stronger effects — the sleep-promoting effects are optimal at 200–300 mcg; higher doses cause morning grogginess without improving sleep quality
Using nightly indefinitely — cycle 2 weeks on, 1–2 weeks off to maintain receptor sensitivity
Expecting sedative-like knockdown — DSIP promotes natural delta sleep quality; it's not a sedative and doesn't force unconsciousness
Benzodiazepines — additive CNS depressant effects; reduce benzo dose carefully before combining
Melatonin — generally safe to combine; DSIP promotes delta wave sleep, melatonin supports circadian rhythm — complementary
Alcohol — avoid; unpredictable CNS effects when combined with sleep peptides
DSIP is one of the most underappreciated sleep peptides in the index. Unlike sleep medications, it promotes deep delta-wave sleep quality rather than inducing sedation or causing dependency. The cortisol-normalization effect makes it particularly useful for people whose sleep issues are stress-driven. 200 mcg SubQ 30 min before bed is the sweet spot.
